Maastricht

I spent a long weekend in Masstricht in Julie & Maïna's lovely apartment. The city reminds me of a smaller more communal Copenhagen with cobble stone streets, narrow alley ways, the bridges across the river and the bikes.

One night in Brussels

Thanks to the delayed Eurostar service to Brussels, Julie & I missed the last train to Maastricht. We decided to make the most of the unluckiness and had a crazy night out instead with lots and lots of beer at Delirium and Bonnefooi.

Rainbow bear

Pigeons

Today was my first day at NoBrow, a small publishing and screen printing studio in Shoreditch (read more here). Said hello to Rose Blake too.

Marie and her buttons

A year ago I went to a talk at Camberwell College of Arts by Marie O'Connor who is part of Peepshow Collective and I have followed her work and wanders ever since. I just came across this cute animation that she directed, which mixes stop-motion and digital techniques. Recently she also built a large wooden installation piece with Chrissie MacDonald at A Foundation Gallery during the 'If you could collaborate' exhibition that took place in January. Marie does some amazing prints onto textile too. Multi-talented that's what that lady is!

Edgy rocks

Mineral specimens from the natural world are what Carly Waito's brush is drawn to paint. Amethysts, smoky quartz, crystals, hessonites and multicoloured tourmalines are some of the stones she creates with oil on masonite. Simple, small and mighty.

Time For Tea

The most amazing jukebox I have ever seen at Time For Tea on Shoreditch High Street. Preferably to be used when dressed in a sassy 1940's outfit.

Projector

By the incredible Mexican photographer Jaime Martinez.

Crystal & Lasers

"Geometry is a universal language" says Matt W Moore about his large mural on 211 Rue Saint-Maur in Paris.

An everyday lyric

On the first day of 2010 Luke's Beard started a personal project named 'A lyric a day'. He takes a line from a song of his choice and creates a visual illustration in response to that particular lyric... Everyday. I love it!
